Let me say this pitcher is GREAT. Absolutely love it....lookes classy in your refrigerator...instead of plastic mugs. I just put water in it. I will be buying two more pitchers. Great buy! I definitely would recommend this product,
A nice addition to our collection of pitchers. The lid effectively strains the herbs/fruit used to infuse the water. We've also used it for tea, and it, again, nicely blocks the mint and lemon we used to flavor our teas.
The handle is comfortable, the pitcher is balanced well for pouring, and it looks nice on the counter. The glass is "heavy" so feels strong enough to use.
Definitely a good looking product. I was worried about cleaning it Not becaus of the neck but the area where liquid comes out but turns out it's all detatchable and easy to clean. Realm good.
The product page says 64 oz., of course, and it does hold 64 oz., but that's actually not very big. It's a nice little pitcher, but make sure it's big enough for your needs before ordering. Havent tried it on the stovetop, and probably won't. It is quite light, so I'm not sure how sturdy it'll be, but I don't have kids and don't plan on dropping it, so that shouldn't be an issue. If it gets broken or scratched up after some use, I'll come back and report.
I have been looking for a pretty glass pitcher with a lid that would actually fit on the fridge shelf for a long time, so I was so glad to find this one. I am only on my second batch of iced tea, but so far I love it!
It's much smaller than I expected. But it's good otherwise, filters effectively, looks nice and does the job. One side note: the pores of the the filter are small and clog up if there's a lot of stuff in the drink. Must clean it off periodically to keep it pouring, otherwise it becomes a small stream and takes a while. Eg. I squeezed lemons and made lavender lemonade. The pulp and lavender flowers almost completely clogged up the filter. But otherwise if seems very well made and is a beautiful pitcher.
It has a basic but elegant design that should complement a lot of decor styles. Some comments seem to have a problem with the thin glass used (about the thickness of a chemistry beaker), but it seems strong enough for the purpose, and the light weight makes it easy to handle. The rubber stopper has a clever cap that lets water pass when tipped sideways, but falls back down when resting flat. I use it for water, but if you needed to shake the carafe, this could be a problem.
I bought two of these pitchers -- and am glad I did. The shape is perfect, allowing for storing in the door or on the shelf in my refrigerator - unlike others I have tried that are too tall! I love the strainer built into the lid, so that tea leaves/lemon seeds get strained out. This product is one that I'd give as a gift. Nice looking and functional!
Awareness of what I use in my kitchen as far as potential toxins goes is very important to me. This carafe is borosilicate glass which is the best trade off, to me, in glass formulations. It is the same type of glass used in chemistry labs. True it will shatter more thoroughly than soda-lime glass but it is more tolerant of changes in temperature. It is a trade-off. And it is a simple elegant design - classic.
I have used nothing but filtered water in the carafe, and it works perfectly. However, in less than 6 months of infrequent use the metal plate in the stopper that moves to let liquid flow (and then collects a few drops when it closes) has become discolored/stained all around its edges (and can't be cleaned) - making it look like a cheap piece of plated metal. This certainly detracts from the otherwise "clean" and quality upscale modern design. Otherwise, all other pieces seem great quality and it is a truly beautiful carafe - people comment all the time on its attractive appearance.
